    death valley.
    i'll admit it.

the ride to death valley is kinda ... frightening.

you're on these small roads, and there's no clear clue about the location of the next gas station. then you start driving over mountains, then into valleys. that happens more than once. the road is "painted" onto the ground, complete with volleys deep enough to get "air time". make us wonder about the next trip to cedar point.

it took about NINE hours of driving to get to death valley.

setting up camp sucked. i had nothing to use to pound the stakes into the ground. it was hard pack at the camp site. it was hot, and windy.

    memorial day ...
i spend my time getting more practice riding.

saturday, i went riding with BARF (bay area riding forum)
to Lake Berryessa. it took 2 hours to get up to where the
ride started, the ride lasted 4 hours, and i got stuck in
traffic on the way back. it was a 'newbie' ride.

sunday, i went up to calaveres road, and saw another lake
    there.

monday, i joined a bunch of sports bike riders, and did
another loop. i had the only scooter for both the group
rides. the people who've had sports bikes for a while
    seem to like the scooter.

You scored as Female. Being mostly female by thought, is even though (still) considered inferior to masculinity in Western culture, a good thing in many ways:It means that you are more creative, and sensitive towards your environment, enabling you to express yourself freely and multitask.

*does a little dance* WOW... nasty nasty bugs this week...

    AGAIN! guru and the nanny!
*grrr* this last week i was AGAIN the guru and the nanny.
its lightning hitting me again. these two thengs aren't
    supposed to happen at once.

it means i field all the 'unknown' bugs for the entire kernel
group (guru), and i field all the bugs from our network group.

my guru tenure ends tonight at midnight. it was tough this
week -- we're doing hard regression testing for the second release
candidate for the product. 'cause of that, the nanny tenure
    wasn't so easy.

BUT, i did good. nanny tenure only leaves with with TWO left
over low priority bugs, and the guru-bug-board is CLEAR...

    HOV joys...
HOV joys? nope, not OVER, but HOV...
'high occupancy lanes'. they're the "commuting" lanes
ya know, there's research that says they're not effective

but when i'm riding to work on the motorcycle, on work-weekdays,
the close highway is crowded, and i'd prefer to not have to
    play dodge-em with the cars.

i have discovered the HOV lane. nobody uses it.
but motorcycles are legal in the HOV lane. how about that.

i now have my own lane to get to work.

    cause i'll forget.
i wanna remember that we goofed up on the way back from
point reyes. we should have turned someplace to cut about 35
minutes off of the path we took. the road was wild, but i didn't
like the 4" drops in the pavement -- i think we passed over
about 4-6 of them. i think they're from the rain. even though
the surface sucked around there, some of the scenery was wild.
riding over that road, where on the right, was sheer drops of over
200 feet ... kinda rememed me of amusement parks.

i wanna remember the little deer we saw. not just in muir woods,
but on the road. the the shallow bay on the left, with sand bars,
    and seals lying about.

i wanna remember that wacky celebration going on in the little town
next to the turnoff for point reyes.... olema? olemas?

i wanna remember riding through SF, and you pointing at the car
right in front of us with the michigan license plate. AND when
we stopped to make lunch near the top of mt tamalpais -- and somebody
asked us for directions, then afterwards told us she did her grad
    work in ann arbor.

i wanna remember sitting on the side of the road before we went to
muir woods, stopping and eating bagels, which turned out to be
stale. and looking out over at san francisco, seeing the golden
gate bridge, the water, the mountains, and they way little houses
were perched on 'em. then flinging the bagels into the bushes
and watching the birds wrestling with them, the one trying to drag
back that entire half bagel -- losing that battlen when the food
fall from the bush to the ground.
